  • Quizzes: 6

Why take this course?

Learners will assess the role of medical school enrollment management practices in relation to their school’s mission and California’s persistent physician workforce needs. Those who complete the modules will gain access to usable tools and resources that support their school’s local mission-alignment, broader state physician workforce needs, and operational efficiency challenges in their annual MD or DO admissions cycle. Importantly, learners will address ways to expand the talent pool in medicine.

You will learn:

  • Why medical school (MD/DO) enrollment management processes are a relevant, yet understudied avenue in helping California meet its health equity needs.
  • How admissions policies and practices result in competition that detracts from California's healthcare workforce diversity.
  • The benefits of language concordant care in helping physicians and patients navigate complex systems.
  • How to differentiate between holistic review practices and a health equity-minded enrollment management strategy.
